The Swine Conspiracy (2015)
The Swine Conspiracy started as a simple exercise to see whether I could build a horror short almost entirely from royalty-free stock footage. The idea came to me during a Transcendental Meditation session, and once I started digging around for statistics to make the film feel more convincing, I found a genuine discrepancy in the figures for UK pig-meat consumption.
That was enough to send the idea somewhere much darker. The film effectively plays the meat-production process backwards: from the finished meal, through the factory and preparation stages, until you eventually discover where the meat actually came from.
Most of the film uses stock footage, with a small amount of material I shot myself to tie everything together.
The statistics are real; the conclusion, thankfully, is mine, or at least I hope so!.
