Para-Hysteria (2017)

Poster for Para-Hysteria (2017), a short film by Sheridan Sinclair
Para-Hysteria was made in 2017 during my MA in Film with Raindance/Staffordshire University. The script went through months of development and rewrites, evolving from a more conventional horror idea into something much more focused on fear, prejudice and the influence of the media.

Synopsis

Richard is a respectable, routine-driven man who sees the world in very clear terms: people are either good or bad, safe or dangerous.

But as a steady diet of sensational news stories begins feeding his existing fears and prejudices, his view of the people around him becomes increasingly distorted. What starts as suspicion gradually turns into paranoia, until Richard can no longer tell the difference between genuine danger and the threats he has created in his own head.
Eventually, fear takes over completely — with devastating consequences

I’m no artist, but I did storyboard the film. You can see my highly sophisticated stick-men here: Para-Hysteria Storyboards
